The Center for Excellence encompasses Computer, GED, Tutorial and Professional Development (PDM) training programs. The Center for Excellence mission is to equip individuals with the educational foundation and skills necessary to transform their lives and press forward toward their life's goals to the glory of God. The Center for Excellence has trained and compassionate professionals who facilitate individuals to embrace and walk in their God-given potential. The Computer Ministry is committed to providing classes to help persons become more productive citizens in the use of computers for the purpose of personal and career goals. As technology plays a larger role in all aspects of our daily lives, it becomes more necessary for persons to navigate computers with skill and responsibility. Our ministry has the potential to provide persons of varying abilities the opportunity to learn more about computers and level the playing field.

The GED Ministry of the MSBC GED Preparation Program is to provide the essential fundamental skills needed to succeed in passing the State of Maryland GED test, while promoting self-enhancing motivators that will uplift, encourage, and empower students to see their God-given potential flourish into an unimaginable reality.
Classes Offered (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays 6:00pm-8:00pm)

The Professional Development Ministry
Our ministry mission is to prepare and mentor persons individually to effectively develop professionally by assisting them in obtaining the following goals.
- Establish realistic and succinct goals through an Individual Development Plan (IDP)
- Develop a resume that is functional and highlights individual achievements in a clear and concise manner.
- Establish a coaching relationship for obtaining career goals.
- Present appropriately on a job interview.
- Complete and interview with confidence.

The Tutorial Program
Our ministry helps youth, young adults, and adults identify learning difficulties and set learning strategies and goals. Design and implement a learning strategy to achieve their educational and career goals. Our aim is to consistently encourage winning attitudes as they are learning by offering a stimulating, loving, and highly motivated learning environment. Note: Persons tutoring our children and youth must agree to and pass a background check as well as complete the MSBC Abuse Prevention and Risk Management Plan training. This training is provided by the MSBC Director of Human Resources.
